Complete List: Valid IDs in the Philippines
There are a number of valid IDs in the Philippines that are accepted in doing certain transactions for validation of a person’s identity, to verify aspects of a person’s personal identity / data, such as full name, address, age and often containing a photograph.
The very moment that we were born, we are given our name, the most basic data that identifies us, while everything else are adopted from our parents’ data. Our first identifying document, our birth certificate. As we start going to schools, our school ID then bears our first photographed identity card. And as we go along with our professional lives we will be required for more proofs of our identities.
Having some form of photo ID is very important; you need to be able to prove you are who you say you are in many situations. You’ll need a photo ID to set up a bank account, to vote, to board an airplane, to get a job.
