April 10 – The Day of Valor – Araw ng Kagitingan (Regular Holiday)

With President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Proclamation No. 90, which moved the non-working day in honor of Araw ng Kagitingan to Monday, April 10, 2023, the long weekend spanning Holy Week would be even longer.

Proclamation No. 90 – Amending Proclamation No. 42 s, 2022, Declaring the Regular Holidays and Special (Non-Working) Days for the Year 2023 states that:

For the year 2023, the observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9)—a regular holiday—falls on a Sunday. If the historical significance of Araw ng Kagitingan is upheld, Monday, April 10, 2023, in place of Sunday, April 9, 2023, may be proclaimed a non-working holiday to allow our countrymen to benefit from a longer weekend.

As a result, April 2023 will have a 5-day long weekend from April 6 to April 10, 2023.
